Position Summary: The Truck Driver is responsible for safely driving, weighing, and spotting trailers throughout the plant. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Report to shipping clerk to receive delivery invoices. Ensure load is tied down properly before leaving yard. Verify that the load is not over-weight, per regulation. Ensure proper labeling is on all containers prior to use. (accumulation start date & placarding) Validate load is double-checked for accuracy before leaving yard and job site. Keep picking slips in vehicle at all times. Drives, weighs, and roll-offs at different locations throughout the plant. Inspects empty containers. Includes washing and securing roll off boxes after use. Completes daily inspections on equipment and trailers and completes check sheets. Ensures that truck is positioned and secured at proper loading rack. Assists Material Handlers, as needed. Includes operating forklift and catalyst transfer units. Wears all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator equipment that may be required in a manner that ensures maximum personal safety. Communicates with facility supervisor on any problems as they occur. Completes any other duties that may be assigned in order to finish the job. Requires knowledge of materials, loading, and unloading procedures, maintaining company equipment (trucks), filling out preventative maintenance logs, and adhering to safety procedures. Maintains logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required along with three years or more warehouse and or chemical loading and unloading experience utilizing a roll off truck. Requires a valid class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement; Must have satisfactory driving record. Forklift certification preferred but can get certified onsite. Pass respirator fit test, criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen. Follow written & verbal instructions and communicate to effectively both verbally and in writing. Receiving and successfully pass training for OSHA, LOTO, DOT, HAZMAT, NCCER, RCRA, Site-Specific Training and any other required certifications for the position.
