Position Summary:
The I&E Foreman will lead the I&E Technicians and Electricians work on a daily basis and ensure work is on schedule while reporting into the Superintendent on status and guidance as needed. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Assign, monitor, and review work of I&E maintenance personnel for accuracy and daily work progress.
- Promote a safe work environment for all mechanical personnel and make recommendations for improvement.
- Lead all I&E maintenance personnel to ensure they respond to Operation’s needs in an efficient and quality related manner.
- Assist in the development of the weekly I&E Maintenance schedule in concert with Operational needs.
- Assign workflows which ensure achievement of weekly Key Process Indicators related to Schedule Attainment and Planned vs. Unplanned work.
- Sustain the I&E department maintenance back log at two weeks.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, schedules.
- Make recommendations to the Supervisor or Manager on controlling I&E maintenance cost and quality.
- Evaluate the work performance of I&E technicians on a regular basis and make recommendations for improvements or disciplinary action to the Technical Manager.
- Communicate with all departments to ensure repairs are completed on a priority basis.
- Monitor equipment condition on a daily basis for misuse or mechanical repairs; notify appropriate personnel to ensure timely correction.
- Instruct and train I&E technicians to trouble shoot and repair equipment properly and in a timely manner.
- Work with Engineering as needed to improve the production process.
- Conduct weekly and monthly safety meetings.
- Program, Repair, and Calibrate electrical equipment
- Perform equipment PM’s
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Technical or Vocational training or education highly preferred.
- A minimum of five years of progressive work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
- Ability to understand process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
- Ability to write technical procedures, policies, and reports.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time.
- Excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work will be performed in a plant facility, outdoors in all weather conditions to include extreme heat, wind and precipitation. Work may be performed in tight, confined spaces that require appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Regularly exposed to dust, noise, odors, chemicals and fumes. Appropriate PPE will be provided, and employees are required to wear designated PPE at all times.
- Nights, weekends and holidays may be required per the established schedule or as needed to meet construction goals.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
- Push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 pounds of material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
- Sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, squat, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders.
- Must be able to pass respirator fit test and employment physical including a drug and alcohol test.
- Must wear safety gear and required PPE.
