Aleon Metals has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Operations at its Freeport, Texas facility. The Director of Operations is a professional who manages the daily activities of a company by overseeing several departments. They are responsible for directing actions across an organization and direct managers to improve efficiency and reduce costs as needed. The Director of Operations will build the Team for the Battery Recycling Plant.
Position Summary: Responsible for the direction and management of Operations, Warehouse, Maintenance, Materials, and Laboratory departments. Direct reports include the Plant Manager, EAF Manager, and the Capital Projects Manager. Further, strong negotiation, advanced interpersonal and communication skills, project management experience in a diverse and dynamic environment and the ability to work in a strong team-oriented environment is required.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:

- Liaise with Management to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
- Work closely with management in developing long-term operational strategies that help meet company objectives.Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
- Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
- Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations
Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree, preferably in chemical engineering or chemistry, MBA or MS preferred.
- 10 years appropriate relevant experience at senior level.
- 5+ years prior Supervisory experience.
- Experience designing and implementing operation plans and procedures.
- Prior experience with budgeting, forecasting, asset distribution.
- Strong knowledge of safety, industrial, environmental, and government regulations.
- Prior experience with contract negotiations, capital projects, and supplier selection process.
- Excellent communication and interfacing skills.

- Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Good at dealing with the uncertainty / subjectivity.
- Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

- Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with the ability to build multiple spreadsheets which can be transformed into clear and concise reports.

- Must use utmost discretion in all presentations, correspondence and communication with and for staff and top management.
